The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum
The EYFS curriculum enables children to learn by playing and exploring, being active and through creative and critical thinking which takes place indoors and outdoors. Whilst hybrid learning we would actively encourage your child to play and learn from everyday experiences e.g. sort the washing (matching socks), do some cooking, wash the car, solve everyday problems etc – these are all incredibly valuable learning experiences.
Please refer to the EYFS Parents page on the school website where there is a wealth of information to support you with hybrid learning.
Resources
Whilst your child is hybrid learning please do get in touch with us if you require any resources – pencils, paper, exercise books, whiteboards, print outs of sound mats, flash cards etc. We can organise for a pack to be made up for you.
Feedback
Please send pictures of any learning to the EYFS email eyfs@whitegroveprimary.co.uk and we will provide you with feedback.
We fully understand that every family will have different circumstances, please adapt the hybrid learning to support what is right for your family. We are here to support you and your child with Hybrid Learning however we can!
Remote learning for partial school closure
We fully understand that every family will have different circumstances, so we have been working hard to put together a menu of opportunities for your children to take part in each day. The work has been broken down into 3 sections:
- ‘Must do tasks’ – practice of the core skills, revision of the areas already covered in school and improvement of fluency; exercising both the body and the mind.
- ‘Should do tasks’ – daily learning of phonics, maths, topic etc
- ‘Could do tasks’ – additional tasks for parents looking for ideas to keep the children busy during the day
Live sessions will be held using Microsoft Teams, Log In | Microsoft Teams, times of live lessons are shown in MS Teams.
Details of the work for each day will be published on this webpage and shared in the files section of MS Teams.
Full details for remote learning can be found here.
We would like to check in with the children every day just to make sure they are ok and that you are accessing the Home Learning. Please try to tune into the Teams Meeting at the beginning of the day where we will go through the activities and/or the Live Story Time on Microsoft Teams each day. That way we can see the children every school day and they can see us. We completely understand that for some this might not be possible every day, so instead could you please just send a very short email on the days that you have not tuned into the Teams Meeting or Live Story Time saying what you have accessed of the learning that day and whether your child is ok.
We are here to support you and your child with Remote Learning however we can! Please do email us if you have any questions regarding remote learning or if you would like to share your child’s fantastic work with us eyfs@whitegroveprimary.co.uk
