Uniform and PE Kit
At Whitegrove we have a simple but smart school uniform. As members of the school community, we want our children wear their uniform with pride, so tidy and correct.
Please ensure that ALL items are named (first and last names), including lunchboxes (named on the outside please), bottles, scarves, hats, gloves, socks etc.
Most of our school uniform is available in local shops and supermarkets. Good quality 2nd hand uniform is also available through our WPFA’s 2nd hand uniform Facebook group.
Our Whitegrove-branded school jumper, school cardigan and house PE T-shirt (for KS1/KS2 and EYFS from the summer term) are only available from Price & Buckland. They offer a simple and secure online service - please visit their website (see below) to create an account and place your order.
Price & Buckland can also supply other Whitegrove-branded items (bags, hats and a mid-layer top for PE) plus dresses, skirts, trousers, shorts and shirts and more.
You can choose to have your order delivered to school or your home address. Delivery is free of charge to school (we will text you when your order is ready to collect from the school office) and also free for orders above £50 to your home address (or at a small charge for orders under that threshold).
Price & Buckland's website update (February 2025)
While Price & Buckland's URL remains price-buckland.co.uk, their new page for Whitegrove orders is live from 11th February 2025. Please continue to use pbuniform-online.co.uk/whitegrove until 10th February 2025 then price-buckland.co.uk/whitegrove-primary-school-bracknell from 11th February 2025.
If you have ordered from them before, you will need to go to the Account section of their website and re-set your password (it can be the same as the one you already use). You will then be able to see your previous orders and manage your account.
Some of the benefits of the new website include easy ordering of multiple schools, more payment options (Klarna, Apply Pay and Google Pay) and being prompted about how close the order is to the free delivery threshold (£50 as at Feb 2025).
Colder weather
During colder weather, pupils may wear base layers to keep warm, provided they are completely covered by the school uniform (e.g. leggings under long trousers, long-sleeved tops under a school jumper/cardigan) and not be worn beneath shorts or short-sleeved tops.
Base layers must also be removed for all PE lessons - instead, a PE hoodie and tracksuit bottoms may be worn during outdoor PE to keep warm.
Some of our children like to wear modesty shorts under dresses and skirts (for when they are doing handstands!) and, again, they must not be visible below the hemline.
Long hair
In the interest of hygiene, long hair must be tied back AT ALL TIMES, not just for PE.
Hair accessories (e.g. hairbands) are to be PLAIN, SMALL and suited to our uniform.
Jewellery
In the interest of safety, jewellery must be minimal (such as a watch and one pair of plain stud earrings). Earrings must be removed before PE (we cannot cover with plasters) so children need to be able to remove and insert earrings themselves or, for younger children, leave earrings at home on PE days.
Non-uniform birthdays
Celebrating birthdays with a non-uniform day is continuing to be popular with our children and families alike (instead of class treats owing to cost, allergies and dietary requirements of classmates) so we are continuing to say "no birthday sweets please" and enjoy your birthday in your chosen outfit (shoes still need to be without heels please).
Checklists
The warm, long-sleeved top in the PE kit could be sweatshirt or fleece instead of the school hoodie.
